DERMA SCIENCES Xtrasorb classic 6 x 9 is a super-absorbent wound dressings. The core super-absorbent polymer technologies dramatically improve the capabilities of the dressings versus conventional moist wound dressings. Whereas other absorbent dressings (including foams, abd pads, and other cellulose-based dressings) rely on spaces within the dressings to fill with fluid, Xtrasorb super-absorbent polymers bind fluid and convert it to a gel. Xtrasorb is able to hold more fluid and locks the fluid inside to decrease maceration and harmful contents within the wound fluid away from the wound. Xtrasorb classic is for heavy and extra heavy exuding wounds. Medicare allows one per day for moderated or highly exudating wounds, stage 3 or 4 ulcers. Sold by the case of 50.
