SPAN AMERICA Pressureguard APM features an integrated foam shell that surrounds and encapsulates the air cylinders in the mattress, adding benefits that can’t be duplicated by air-only products. The shell’s two-part perimeter bolster system also provides stability when the user is sitting or transferring. It absorbs and smoothes sharp pressure drop-offs that other surfaces can’t, while the air system does the "heavy lifting" below, alternating weightbearing across the surface in 10 minute cycles. On top, the geo-matt anti-shearing surface forms a comfortable, therapeutic interface between the cylinders and the user. This mattress also features an integrated side flap with velcro closure to allow for easy access to quick-connect ports and an exclusive heel slope which redistributes load to pressure-tolerant lower legs and calves.
