SMITH & NEPHEW Acticoat Flex 3 is an effective, antimicrobial barrier dressing for partial and full thickness wounds. Dressing consists of a flexible, low adherent polyester layer coated with nanocrystalline silver. Highly conformable, the dressing follows the contours of the body to maintain contact with the wound surface. Acticoat flex 3 is low adherent, which helps to minimize wound trauma at dressing changes. The nanocrystalline silver provides an effective barrier to microbial contamination. When tested in-vitro, acticoat flex 3 demonstrated to have effective antimicrobial barrier properties for up to 3 days against a broad spectrum of wound pathogens, including mrsa and pseudomonas aeruginosa, and other broad spectrum wound pathogens. The antimicrobial barrier properties and the ability of the dressing to allow fluid to pass through without impairment, has shown to be compatible with negative pressure wound therapy for a period of 3 days. Dressing may be left in place for 3 days depending on the amount of exudate present and the wound condition. Each dressing contains between 0.69Mg/cm2 and 1.64Mg/cm2 nanocrystalline silver. The color of these dressings may vary. This does not affect the performance of the dressing. Acticoat flex 3 can be cut to the desired shape and size. Dressing size is 4 inches x 4 inches.
